The RKHC350 is a 3" hydrocyclone sand separator that uses centrifugal force to remove sand, gravel, and heavy particulate from irrigation water. Water enters tangentially, creating a vortex that flings heavy particles to the outer wall and down into the collection tank. Clean water exits from the top. No screens or media to clog — maintenance is limited to periodically flushing the collection tank through the drain port.
Key Features & Benefits
Centrifugal separation — removes sand and gravel without screens or filter media; nothing to clog or replace
Reinforced plastic body — durable, corrosion-resistant construction designed for outdoor agricultural use
Hydrodynamic design — engineered for maximum centrifugal action at 155–230 GPM flow rates
Easy flushing — flush debris through the drain port without shutting down; collector cover opens for full chamber cleaning
Factory-fit slip-on flanges — 3" Flange for straightforward installation
How Sand Separators Work
Water enters the separator tangentially at high velocity, creating a spinning vortex inside the conical chamber. Centrifugal force pushes heavier particles (sand, gravel, sediment) to the outer wall, where they spiral downward into the collection tank. The lighter, cleaner water reverses direction in the center and exits through the top outlet. Some fine particles may still pass through — install a disc or screen filter downstream for complete protection of drip emitters and sprinkler nozzles.
