RKAV75 - 3/4" Plastic Air Release / Vacuum Relief Vent

This 3/4" simple action plastic air vent automatically manages air in your irrigation mainline. During startup, it expels large volumes of trapped air so water can fill the pipe without air locks. During shutdown, it opens to admit air into the line, preventing the vacuum that causes pipe collapse, fitting damage, and water hammer. The float mechanism seals at just 5 PSI once water reaches the vent.

Key Features and Benefits

  • Air expulsion on startup - Vents trapped air so the system fills completely and operates at full efficiency
  • Vacuum relief on shutdown - Admits air to prevent pipe collapse, water hammer, and fitting damage
  • Seals at 5 PSI - Float mechanism closes automatically once water reaches the vent
  • Rated to 175 PSI - Handles the pressures of commercial irrigation mainlines
  • Non-corrosive plastic construction - Reinforced polypropylene and polyamide (nylon) resists weather, UV, and chemical exposure
  • 3/4" MNPT connection - Threads directly onto the mainline at high points

Installation

Install air vents at the highest points in your irrigation mainline where air naturally collects. Also install at the end of long runs and at any point where the pipe profile changes from uphill to downhill. The vent must be oriented upright (vertical) for the float mechanism to operate correctly.
