RKAVC200 - 2" Plastic Continuous Action Air Vent

This 2" continuous action air vent provides three-function air management for irrigation mainlines. In addition to the standard air expulsion (startup) and vacuum relief (shutdown) functions, it continuously releases small air pockets that accumulate during normal system operation. These small air pockets reduce flow capacity, cause uneven pressure distribution, and can damage components - the continuous action vent eliminates them automatically without interrupting irrigation.

Three-Function Operation

  1. Air expulsion on startup - Vents large volumes of trapped air so the system fills completely
  2. Vacuum relief on shutdown - Admits air to prevent pipe collapse and water hammer
  3. Continuous air release - Automatically bleeds small air pockets during normal operation to maintain full flow capacity

Key Features and Benefits

  • Continuous air bleed - Eliminates air pockets that reduce flow and cause pressure fluctuations during operation
  • Non-corrosive construction - Reinforced polyamide (nylon) resists weather, UV, and chemical exposure
  • 2" MNPT connection - Threads directly onto the mainline at high points
  • Threaded elbow outlet.

When to Use Continuous vs Simple Action

Use a continuous action vent on systems where air enters the water during normal operation - such as long mainline runs, systems with pump suction from open sources, or lines where water temperature changes cause dissolved air to come out of solution. For systems that only need startup/shutdown air management, a simple action vent is sufficient.
